Tawny…new poetry by Geoff Brookes

Tawny

Water washes muddy roots,
Reflects the tawny, lolling leaves,
Varied light in waving wood
Mirroring the angled beams,

Prophesying summer’s end,
Slowing, seeking winter fare,
Trees and creatures colder fend,
Awaiting warm, inspiring air.
