How does Goldeyes Mgr. Rick Forney give his bullpen a night off?  He gets it by getting a Masterful 9 innings pitching performance from his starter, Kevin McGovern. FISH WIN 11 – 2 FISH WIN. McGovern picks up the win, allowing 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd. and then shutting the door on the RailCats the rest of the way. 2 runs on 2 hits, 4 base on balls and 8 K’s.  With the win the Goldeyes maintained a firm grasp on the wild card position with a 3 game lead over Laredo Lemurs and have moved to within 7 games of first place St. Paul Saints.

Fish batters brought out the lumber tonight, Reggie Abercrombie went 5 for 6, with 2 R.B.I.s, Willie Cabrera 3 for 5 with a 3 run homer and  5 R,B,I,s on the eve., Adam Heisler went 3 for 5, All-star David Rohm was the DH and went 3 for 5, while both Casio Grider and Maikol Gonzalez  went 2 for 5.

Railcats had scored 2 and were pressing for more, but Reggie came through with a big 3rd. out clutch catch on a long drive to centrefield. Tonights game ended on a double play started very fittingly, by none other than Kevin McGovern. to Gonzalez and onto Rogers at 1st. Game set and match. Final game of this series goes Sunday afternoon so a big cheer to the guys, GO GOLDEYES!

Goldeyes with 7 wins in a row and after Sunday’s series finale, the Goldeyes will play a  three-game set against the Sioux Falls Canaries before returning home for a 9 game home stand!!
