Laine draft

Given that Patrik Laine is putting up incredible numbers at such a young age, how much do you believe it will take for the Winnipeg Jets to sign Laine to a long term contract?  Below you will see the contract of Mark Scheifele who signed an 8 year, $49 million dollar contract to stay with the Jets; Laine’s best pal, Nic Ehlers, signed a 7 year, $42 million contract.
If you look at some of the contracts listed below Scheifele, what is striking are the contracts given to both Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane…$13 million each!!  Yes, the Hawks have won 3 Stanley Cups in recent years, but the standings today find the Black Hawks in last place, as they have had to trade off talented players because of the salary cap.   I see the same thing happen to the Oilers, who have over $21 million a year being paid to Conner McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

Chevy has done a great job of locking up key pieces, such as Scheifele and Ehlers, without breaking the bank…so, the question is:

HOW MUCH DO WE HAVE TO PAY PATRIK LAINE TO KEEP HIM AS A WINNIPEG JET ON A LONG TERM CONTRACT?
